Are there any original thoughts left?

Have all original thoughts been spoken or written? Are there any groundbreaking perspectives on what it is to be human left to be pondered? What I see, especially from the consciousness/spiritual community, is the rise of the individual with some revolutionary epiphany on life. I’m not here to take away from their experience, which is unique to each of us and our life story. However, their revolutionary idea is a concept they have read in a book or heard in a podcast or an internet clip, and they simply forget. It gets tucked in the back of their mind till a time comes when something in life triggers that idea, and suddenly, there is a deeper meaning to it. At the moment, it feels revolutionary, and again their specific perspective can be unique to them, but in the end, how many times is it a concept they are recycling and they’ve simply forgotten it’s external source?

I’m the first to say I have been guilty of this. It’s something I am trying to pay attention to. We all want to be special. We all want to contribute and be significant in any way. The need to be unique, to help, and to contribute is an underlying intention I am paying attention to. I don’t know if this makes much sense. It’s something I’ve been noticing: how that need drives us to repackage concepts as ours. But really, there have been hundreds and thousands of years contemplating the human experience, and I’m not sure if everything hasn’t been thought of.

I reserve the right to be completely wrong and to change my mind. Maybe I’m entirely off the mark. There may be so much of human experience left to be explored, especially as our lives increasingly become entangled with technology while also entangling more and more back with nature. Are there new realms to be explored in that dance?
