The Artifact of Love

Uncategorized

January 26, 2025

A few months back, I was watching a video by @jkultra about how the holographic universe. In the video, she explained how an aspect of a higher dimension would show up in a lower dimension. Take, for example, a basketball; if I wanted to put my basketball in a drawing, and let’s say I could put the basketball through the paper, the only remnant of the basketball in the drawing would be a circle. Even if I’m drawing a basketball, it is going to show up as a circle.

This begs the question: Is everything a circle in the picture, a basketball in the 3D world? Obviously no. The sun is not a basketball, neither is a head, or a cup, or anything that has a circular shape to it. This might be an effortless contemplation if I were of higher intelligence or formerly educated in quantum physics. I don’t know what makes something 4D, 5D, and on up. I understand that time could be a component that changes in higher dimensions, and the physical structures that make up the universe would reveal themselves to be more complicated. But what about non-physical things, like feelings or ideas?

I often think about love in this context. There’s the chemical reaction in our bodies that we call love, but is that only one type of love? I love the line from Interstellar, “Love is the one thing we’re capable of perceiving that transcends dimensions of time and space.” There is loving someone, and then there is being in love with someone. There is loving your kids, love for your friends, and the love you have for a lover. There’s young love, a first love; some people would say soulmate love. There’s love for a season and love that feels as if it knows no time. Are all these love? Or do we experience them all as love in this dimension, but in a higher dimension, they are different? We speak in a language of words, which can lack nuances and subtleties.

If it is true, does it even matter? Or can it offer us additional insight into what it means to be human?

Now for some quick internal dialogue. I promised myself that I would write to write and publish it. If others read these words, great, but they are not written to affect someone else. I feel this post highlights my lack of intelligence and the limitations of my vocabulary as I am out of time to write. Well, I set the rules, so I’ll continue to contemplate, and I can write about it again. The commitment was to write daily, even if I only had a few minutes.
