Love, Trust, and Manifestation

Thoughts

February 6, 2024

Manifestation. This word is all the buzz these days. And yet, I’m somewhat put off by it. Let me be honest: I have this inconsistent quirk; when something is trendy, I develop an aversion to it, so it is entirely possible that “manifesting” doesn’t sit well with me because it’s all the rage. Beyond that, something is missing for me, a conversation that has yet to be had.

Have you ever had a feeling, like a whisper in a breeze; you can feel it, and there does not seem to be a way to articulate that feeling’s totality without endlessly rambling on. What you are about to read below is my attempt at thinking, feeling, and experimenting my way through this feeling.

First, I have to start with a key ingredient to Manifesting.

TRUST-What does it mean to trust?

According to Merriam-Webster online, trust is defined as a

noun: “assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something.”

verb: “to hope or expect confidently.”

For most of my life, I gave little thought to the word TRUST. There was a certain detachment I had from it. But as I’ve journeyed into understanding manifestation, energy, and love, I’ve come to have a deep reverence for it. Suddenly, the standard dictionary definition of Trust seems shallow and incomplete to the width and breadth it weaves.

If you TRUST that if you take action, the Universe, God, or Great Mystery will provide, do you need to manifest? Would, in fact, the very act of manifesting be a signal that you do not TRUST in said higher power? You are limited to what you can manifest by what you believe or conceive is possible. Meanwhile, the Universe, God, or The Great Mystery can provide beyond what you can imagine, beyond your wildest dreams, so why wouldn’t you set aside your wants and desires and trust, knowing that you will be provided for?

I’m not asking this out of judgment. Clearly, manifestation can work, i.e., Gabby Bernstein. Maybe it’s just me. Is there something in me that isn’t grasping the concept or missing some information? I had this conversation with my mentor, who proposed I sit in meditation with this question. The answer came, and it was deep and profound.

I was told yes, TRUST is the foundation of all. I was then told to feel into the relationship between the words LOVE and TRUST. I had this feeling of them being different sides of the same coin. Since that meditation, I have come to the understanding that LOVE is a noun, the substance that makes up everything; it is what weaves this reality together. TRUST is the verb; it is love in action. It is the weaving.

Yet, there is a place for a manifestation practice. We are energetic beings, and our energy is continuously meshing with all the energy around us. This can cause a lot of distraction and a lack of clarity. Manifestation is helpful for the purpose of directing energy and cutting through all the noise like a laser. It creates clarity, and with clarity comes action. It is a tool to help us find our way back to love and trust.

The answers I received felt like a memory restored. I am still contemplating, thinking, and experimenting, so my understanding will likely continue to evolve.

Are you a manifestor? What’s your relationship with the word trust?
